What should I do if I suspect a problem, but
I'm not sure? |
|
Many illegal acts committed by
elected officials are
discovered by tips from honest people who are not certain of all the
facts. Even when you have no physical evidence, you can still
provide a description of your concerns, and why you believe a crime has occurred.
All reports are treated seriously. |

2. |
How much information should I provide? |
|
You should include as much
detail as you are comfortable providing. Generally, a report should include a detailed
description of your concerns, the names of those involved, and a description
and location of any physical evidence that may
exist. |
|
|
3. |
Will I have to identify myself? |
|
No. This site is
privately-funded and provided
as a
community service for persons wanting an anonymous way to report
their concerns. You will never be asked
to provide your identity. |
|
|
4. |
Should I send documents that prove my
concerns? |
|
No. There are laws that govern the gathering of evidence for
use in criminal investigations. Any attempt to gather evidence by people
unfamiliar with these laws could prejudice any criminal investigation and
prosecution. However, a description and location of any physical evidence that may exist will make it easier
for law enforcement to
investigate your concerns. |

5. |
Will there be an investigation after my
report? |
|
Information that you submit is reviewed by an experienced
investigator, and then promptly conveyed to law enforcement. All reports are treated seriously. |
